Description

Just as the game of golf itself has a rich history, so does the land on which Chambers Bay was created. The Chambers Creek Properties is comprised of over 950 acres located along the shores of the Puget Sound, in University Place, Washington. While Pierce County's ownership of the properties has been fairly recent, the making of the properties and its surrounding land uses began to take shape over 200 years ago and was influenced by not only the physical changes made, but by the people who lived and worked here.

The quarry history stems as far back as the Steilacoom Indian Tribe and the first European settlers in 1832.

Take I-5 South to S. 56th St. West. exit -EXIT #130. Take the Tacoma Mall Blvd. ramp toward S. 56th St. West. Turn Left on Tacoma Mall Blvd. Then right onto S. 56th St. stay on 56th St. West for approx. 3mi. when 56th St. West becomes Cirque Drive West. Continue on Cirque Drive West to Grandview Drive West. Turn Left at Grandview Drive W. Pass through 1 roundabout. Chambers Bay will be on your right, approx. Total distance from I-5 approx. 6.1 miles.

From Portland: (approx 2.5 hours)
Take I-5 North to Steilacoom-DuPont Road (Exit #119). Turn left onto Barksdale Avenue and immediately right onto Dupont-Steilacoom Road. Road name changes to Dupont-Steilacoom Highway. Bear right onto Lafayette Street. Road name changes to Chambers Creek Road West. Turn left onto 64th Street West. Go around the second roundabout into the entrance to Chambers Bay Golf Course located at 6320 Grandview Drive West. Total distance from I-5 approx. 9.4 miles.
